Password & Securityβ
Change your current password by entering your current password followed by your new password twice.
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)β
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) adds an additional layer of security to your account by requiring a one-time password (OTP) generated by an authenticator app when signing in. This ensures that even if your password is compromised, your account remains protected.
Setting Up MFAβ
To enable MFA, expand the Authenticator app section. Authenticator apps such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator can be used to generate the required one-time passwords.
- Scan the QR code displayed on screen using your authenticator app.
- If you are unable to scan the QR code, select the copy icon to copy the setup key and enter it manually in your authenticator app.
- Once configured, enter the verification code generated by your app into the Verification code field.
- Select Verify to complete setup.
Once successfully verified, the Authenticator app status updates to Configured.
If you lose access to your TOTP device, you cannot sign in. Contact your administrator or the Nexiant support team to reset your MFA settings.
Disabling MFAβ
If MFA is Configured, a Disable button appears in the Authenticator app section. Selecting this removes MFA from your account and you are no longer prompted for a one-time password when signing in.
For security purposes, disabling MFA requires a recent sign-in. If your current session is not recent enough, you are prompted to log out and sign back in to complete the action. Select Log Out to proceed, or Cancel to return without making any changes.
